The last few years seems to have made a huge impact on the world however things like house prices have fallen so do your children really have any excuses?
Most younger people do not want to stick around with their parents forever and are looking for a way to move out so I do not think the majority are making excuses up. This isn’t because they necessarily hate the place where they live but just feel they need to be a bit more independent in their lives. One of the big problems is realising that you have to live by yourself or with a roomate. Although many prices when down, there are also many that went up. Something else that didnt help was the fact that many thousands of people suffered reduncies and loss of their jobs.
Prices of things like heating, electricity and water went up and there is often no way a young person can afford to pay out for all of these extras. On top of this there are also many other things that need to be bought for the home such as bedside tables, dining room furniture and of course those fancy white wardrobes, meaning it can be almost impossible to move out.
Are we really going to be seeing more and more youngsters moving out this year? If I am being honest here I cannot see it happening much this year. Thanks to Gordon Brown the country is in ruins and with the taxes once again on the rise this year it is going to be very hard for a younger person to move out.
While I still live at home and thoroughly enjoy my time there I do want to eventually move out but 2010 doesn’t look like it is going to be the year for me or in fact a lot of other people.
